Conservation Ecology Research Unit

Conservation Ecology Research Unit

The Conservation Ecology Research Unit (CERU) is a dedicated team of scientists and technicians based in the Department of Zoology and Entomology at the University of Pretoria. Operating as an independent research group, CERU secures financial and logistical support through partnerships with industry, non-governmental organisations, and project-based contracts.

The unit serves as a hub for cutting-edge research in conservation and ecological restoration, while also offering valuable training opportunities for postgraduate and postdoctoral students. Our research is endorsed by conservation agencies across southern and East Africa.
